The curtains have drawn open once more on the drama-filled life of Dr. Chris Okafor, a trojan and founder of the Grace Nation Church International. A month after scandal rocked his pulpit, the pastor returned to the altar, his all-white ensemble a stark contrast to the shadows that had threatened to engulf him.
The congregation, still reeling from the aftershocks of allegations and counter-allegations, rose as one to welcome him back – a sea of expectant faces, eager to see if their shepherd would emerge unscathed from the crucible of controversy.
Worshippers at the University of Lagos Catholic Chaplaincy (St. Thomas More) on Sunday witnessed a very joyous moment as 19 graduates of the University who bagged First Class recently in their undergraduate degree examinations were honoured with awards and cash rewards.
The Chaplaincy, Swedish Bitters Brand Promoters, led some anonymous donors in financially rewarding the graduates who are members of St. Thomas More Catholic Chaplaincy for their exceptional performances in their undergraduate programmes at the University of Lagos.
