Warri Kingship Crisis: Two Sons Of Late Olu Wanted By Police For Stealing Royal Crown

The Nigerian Police, Zone ‘5’ headquarters, Benin City has declared two sons of the late Olu of Warri, Ogiame (King) Ikenwoli Godfrey Emiko wanted for stealing the Royal Crown.

Prince Oyowoli Emiko and Prince Omatsuli Emiko were declared wanted by the police after a separate warrant of arrest was issued on them by the Federal High Court in Benin, Edo State.

The police statement declaring the two princes wanted alleged an offence of constructive breaking into the “secret apartment of His Royal Majesty Olu of Warri and stealing the Royal Crown.

This is coming less than a week to the scheduled coronation of the Olu-designate Omo Oba Tsola Emiko on Saturday 21st August, 2021 as the next Olu following the passage of Ogiame Ikenwoli Godfrey Emiko.

Since the passage of the last king, succession to the throne has been in serious controversy until the choice of the 36-year-old Tsola Emiko, one of the sons of the late Ogiame Ikenwoli Godfrey Emiko. Since his choice, many Itsekiri indigenes at home and in the Diaspora have been exciting mood expecting his coronation as the youngest king of the kingdom.

Princes Oyowoli Emiko and Omatsuli, 30 and 27 years old respectively are both students and the police statement has authorised anyone who comes across them to arrest and hand them over to the nearest Police Station or to the office of the Assistant Inspector-General of the Police Criminal Investigation Dept.
