Tony Elumelu’s Mother, Others To Receive Silent Heroes Award On Saturday

No fewer than twenty Nigerians in various walks of life have been nominated for the Silent Heroes Award scheduled for Saturday 21st August, 2021 in Abuja with the mother of celebrated Elumelu brothers (Tony and Ndudi), Mrs. Suzanne Elumelu leading
the pack.

AtlanticNewsonline gathered from the event organisers that the matriarch of the Elumelu family from Delta State is being honoured as a SILENT HERO IN MOTHERHOOD, for diligently bringing up her children to prominence after she lost her husband at a very young age.

Among her children are Mr. Tony Elumelu, a celebrated banker and global entrepreneur, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, an astute politician and Minority Leader of the House of Representatives and others.

Other personalities to be honored at the event which takes place at the Sheraton Hotels, Abuja include the Group Managing Director of Fidelity Bank, Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, Chairman of Zenith Bank, Mr. Jim Ovia, Managing Director of Technocrime Security Limited, Chief Tony Azuya, Chairman of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Minister of Women Affairs, Hon. Pauline Tallen, All Progressives Congress (APC) National Women Leader, Alhaja Salamatu Baiwa and Others. They are being honoured as heroes in different categories.

The yearly Award which is an initiative of Nigerian Silent Heroes Award pioneered by Mr. Odita Sunday-Udemagwuna; a senior journalist with the Guardian Newspaper is in its third year.

The maiden edition of the award which was chaired by a former Deputy Comptroller General (DCG) of Immigration Service, Dr. Brasca Ifeadi was held at the Best Western Elomaz Hotel, Asaba in December, 2019.

The 2020 edition which was second in the series took place at Nicon Noga Hotel Abuja under the Chairmanship of former Director General of Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, Prof. Epiphany Azinge who incidentally is expected to also chair this year’s event.
