NDLEA Celebrity Drug Free Club Marks UN International Drug Day With A Conference

Activities to mark the 2022 edition of the United Nations International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking are being worked out by the
NDLEA Celebrity Drug Free Club just like other stakeholders to commemorate the annual event.

The Celebrity Drug Free Club among other things, is organising a conference tagged ” Best Approaches to Drug Control: The Role of the Entertainment Industry Practitioners.” The event will hold in July, 2022 in Lagos on a date to be announced later.

Speaking with AtlanticNewsonline on Thursday via phone, the National Coordinator of the Club; Mr. Wilson Ighodalo said the conference is designed to harness the enormous potential of the creative industry in promoting evidence based approaches to drug abuse and trafficking.

According to him, the event will bring together respected celebrities, erudite speakers and other invited guests. “Our chief host is His Excellency Brig General Mohammed Buba Marwa (Rtd),Chairman Chief/Executive Officer, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).”

Theme of this year’s conference is “Addressing Drug Challenges in Health and Humanitarian Crises.”
