Activities of the Kosofe Local Government Area chapter of Labour Party were taken to higher heights on Tuesday as members from different Wards led by the Kosofe LGA Labour Party Chairman, Comrade Ranti Atunwa stormed Agboyi town with relief materials for victims of the recent devastating flooding in parts of Lagos.

The relief materials which included rain boots, cartons of biscuits, treated mosquito nets, shoes for adults and children, plastic buckets, cartons of indomie, sardine and so on were donated by the leadership of the Kosofe LGA Labour Party and Nigerian Diasporas for Peter Obi, USA (NDPO-USA).

The effort had come as a brain child of House of Representatives candidate in the area; Comrade Gideon Kyegh who is also the convener of the project in collaboration with the leadership of Kosofe LGA Labour Party.

The Labour Party and Obi-Datti Supporters numbering over 50 had gone on chartered engine boats to the Agboyi town (a riverine community) where the relief materials were donated to hapless and helpless flood victims.

For easy distribution of the materials, the visiting OBIdients broke into three teams with each group concentrating on different side of the community. While warmly receiving one of the

teams with relief materials, the Olu of Agboyi, His Royal Majesty Oba (Engr) Monsuru Abimbola Adekambi Oladega remarked that Labour Party with Peter Obi as presidential candidate has started well.

In his words, “politics is a game and everyone involved in it should play it well and peacefully. Politics should be about development of the society and anyone involved in it should work for the good of the people.”

He recalled that before he came on throne as the King of his town, Agboyi was seriously abandoned and there was nothing to give life of the residents some meaning. “However, since I became the King, certain developments have taken place such as construction of jetty for boats, drinking water, town hall, health centre.”

Among Obi-Datti Supporters on the trip to Agboyi was a Lagos State House of Assembly Labour Party candidate for Shomolu Constituency, Mr. Adesegun Adelana popularly known as Aluta. Lagos State Labour Party Woman leader, Comrade Titi Owolu and Comrade Adefola Shade (medical doctor) member, Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Council were also part of the team to Agboyi.

Earlier before embarking on the trip, the trio of Aluta, Owolu and Adefola had praised the vibrancy and spirit of camaraderie that existed in the Kosofe LGA Labour Party. They commended Comrade Atunwa and other stakeholders in ensuring that Labour Party was viable in the area.
