An emerging tourist centre, Sandeb Farms and Resort, Ubulu-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State played host to visitors and fun seekers this Easter season from within and outside the town.

A visit to the Resort by Atlanticnewsonline on Easter Sunday and Monday revealed that very soon tourists to Delta State would conveniently make Sandeb the preferred choice as a one-stop tourist centre

With a kitchen that modestly meets the culinary needs of an average tourist or visitor in addition to beautiful music supplied by the resident Disk Jockey (DJ), Sandeb is poised to take a pride of place

among upcoming relaxation bars and restaurants in the area in the nearest future.

The swimming pool, lawn tennis court, children play ground, newly completed event hall, block of hotel rooms soon to be commissioned including piggery, snailery, goatery, fish pond etc are attractions to behold in the days to come as management of Sandeb Farm and Resort is poised to make it a world class tourist centre.

Speaking with Atlanticnewsonline, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Sandeb Resort and Farm, Barr. Mike Ejiofor; a former Director, Department of State Service (DSS)said his intention is to make Ubulu-Uku become a tourist destination.

According to him, “it has been my dream to make Ubulu-Uku work and I am just trying to reactivate the kitchen to, at least attract mostly the youths as we need to control them.

The youths form majority of the population and they need to be encouraged. Here, we have lawn tennis courts, table tennis facilities, swimming pool, ice cream, pop corn stand, shawarma, meat pie. We have varieties of items here and we use these to attract the children. I intend to use this platform to also engage the youths on discussion on how to be good citizens and behave well.

“Sandeb also has children playground but we stopped activities on the playground during COVID-19. We are yet to re-activate the playground but would soon.

In a short while, our new hotel will begin operation. We are furnishing the rooms now. There is no timeline but very soon hotel rooms would be ready for lodging. We also have an event center for birthday, wedding and other parties. So there is going to be a lot of activities.”

Speaking further, Ejiofor said, “do not forget also that we have Sandeb Farms where we have piggery, snailery, goatery and a lot of husbandry pertaining to agriculture. We also have big palm plantation.”

With respect to security of visitors and tourists to the Resort, the former Director of DSS did not hesitate to say that, “I am a security practitioner, therefore, there is no way I can put up this structure, without taking security into consideration. So people coming here are assured of maximum security. All our guests are secured.”

With a promise to make Sandeb Farms and Resort a place of choice, Ejiofor assured that “we have a lot of potentials here. We want to make sure that Ubulu-Uku becomes a tourist destination.”
