What ought to be a glorious day of exit from the Government office of Anambra State for former Governor Willie Obiano turned out a show of shame as his wife, Ebelechukwu allegedly slapped Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu; wife of late Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu at the inauguration/swearing in ceremony in Awka of Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo as the new governor on Thursday.

Though, some sources said it was actually Mrs. Ojukwu who slapped Mrs. Obiano following an embarrassing question or frontal accusation at the august gathering, yet some others contended that it was the Ex-Governor’s wife who actually assaulted Ikemba’s wife by slapping her over a yet to be clarified issue.

Meanwhile, Head of Governor Soludo’s Media Team, Mr. Joe Anatune in a statement soon after the inauguration on Thursday afternoon said; “Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo hereby apologizes to all Anambra people, friends and guests who attended his inauguration this morning as the Anambra State governor for the breach of protocol.

Without explaining in clear details, the statement further said, “the breach was caused by improper communication which itself arose from a personal issue between the two parties involved in the breach.

“Steps are being taken to resolve the misunderstanding and restore the parties to their previous relationship. Anambra State has over the years been known for a huge stock of social

harmony, and the stock will increase substantially in the years ahead as part of the concerted effort to accelerate the state’s development.”

If anything, the statement from the media team has only helped to create more confusion for those who did not physically witness the incident but have to rely on third party stories which in turn now trend on social media.
