Clergy, Industrialists, Others Launch Inspirational Book ‘Soothing Waters’ In Lagos

It was a joyous day for the immediate past President of the Catholic Women Organization of the Catholic Church of Divine Mercy, Lekki Lagos, Mrs. Ifeoma Nwuke as her newly published inspirational book was unveiled on Sunday.

The book titled SOOTHING WATERS: GOD’S WORD AS NOURISHMENT FOR THE SOUL is the latest publication in Nigeria’s inspirational book market.

The public presentation cum launching which took place at the Catholic Church of Divine Mercy, Admiralty Way, Lekki, Lagos had attracted clergymen, Industrialists, bankers, entertainers and others from various walks of life.

The event which was chaired by the Group Managing Director of Dangote Industries Limited, Mr. Kunle Alake was remarkably an occasion for deep personal reflection of one’s life activities with a view to re-energizing to do more of what seemed right before God.

The key note speaker, Dr. Ifeoma Atoh reminded everyone of the need to re-awaken “the giant” in them by carrying out their civic responsibilities, one of which centres on voting rightly during forthcoming general elections.

While noting the place of prayers in the life of persons, the speaker reminded everyone that prayer goes with hard work, just the same way the Bible posits that faith without work is dead.

Various dignitaries at the event spoke glowingly about the book and commended the author for summoning the courage to write an inspirational book that has added to the volume of books of such genre. The Chief Launcher and Chief Executive Officer of Active-Edge Technologies, Mr. George Agu and the Chief Executive Officer of Future Concerns, Engr. Tony Oguike exceptionally praised the charity project of the author and were happy to gift copies of the book to family and friends as Christmas presents.

As each of the dignitaries at the occasion took time to launch the book with various sums of money, the Chairman reminded guests that part of the proceeds from the launching and sales of the book would go to women and youth empowerment through Claritus Foundation. It was interesting to note that some launchers of the book had purchased the copies to be given out as seasonal gift item.

The two-in-one event which marked launching of the book and celebration of the author’s birthday was an occasion that would not be forgotten in a

hurry as guests were serenaded by the classic Olumide Bariton, YM Sax and DJ Banty.

The Dean of Lekki also gave words of exaltation to guests at the event just as the author; Mrs. Nwuke in a birthday mood appreciated the attendees with a reminder that the Soothing Waters was the first in the series of publications by her. “More would be coming from the Soothing Waters desk” she declared.
