A former Speaker of Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tonye Emmanuel Isenah is reportedly going after the life of one Mr. Rowell Zibo Festus suspected to be an ardent member of the illegal same-sex group, otherwise known as LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer).

Our investigation in Yenagoa, Capital of Bayelsa State revealed that the former Speaker whom we learnt was once in close relationship with Festus has vowed to literarily bring him down at all cost for an undisclosed reason.

According to a source, the Ex-Speaker has concrete evidence that Festus who is married with six children has illicitly been promoting the gay culture among some youths in the State.

For quite sometime now, various communities across the states of Nigeria have stepped up effort to dismantle any same-sex structure as the government of Nigeria has since outlawed all forms of such engagement including lesbianism, gay, bisexuality, transgender and what have you.

It was gathered that when the security personnel and angry youths obviously engaged by the former Speaker stormed the Yenagoa residence of Festus, they met only his wife and six children. Festus was not at home.

As she tried to raise alarm over the sudden arrival at her home, the youths descended on her, inflicting injuries on her hand, head and back. Two of her sons similarly sustained severe bruises all over their bodies.

It was also gathered that three of their neighbors who tried to intervene were also beaten and injured. The violent mob looted their home, vandalised their property and damaged Festus’ car. The team went ahead to threaten the family insisting that if Ufuoma failed to turn in, her husband, they would return on a renewed attack.

Meanwhile, the whereabouts of Festus is not known and there is palpable fear that if caught, he could be prosecuted in line with extant laws prohibiting same-sex relationship in Nigeria or even be stoned to death.
