Believers in God have been enjoined to always show consistency in giving thanks to God in appreciation for divine interventions in their lives, rather than make it occasional thing.

Pastor Jude Chuks Itabor

Speaking as a guest preacher on the theme “THE POWER OF THANKSGIVING” at the 2025 annual thanksgiving service of Canaanland Divine Ministry

International, Alapere-Ketu Lagos, on Sunday, Pastor Japheth Omogolor of Gateway Pentecostal Assembly, Lagos said “there are many battles of life human beings cannot fight ordinarily without Thanksgiving to God.”

He went further to say that thanksgiving to God for His interventions in people’s life ought to be a continuous thing and not one-off or occasional indulgence since

there can never be excess or overdose of it, considering the many interventions of God in people’s lives.

Prophet Shola Adewale Sholola

Situating his argument on several Biblical passages such as Luke 17 verse 11, I Chronicles 1 verse 20, Pastor Omogolor emphasized that Thanksgiving to God is

something one can use to silence his enemy, and it is a cure to doubt.

“Regrettably, in today’s world, the intensity with which people including believers come to God while seeking His help or intervention in their challenges, is not the same intensity with which they appreciate God after such divine intervention has rescued them from the challenges. This is not good” he said.

The gospel preacher posited that ingratitude or lack of thanksgiving is one of the reasons God deliberately delays answers to some prayers.

The General Overseer of Canaanland Divine Ministry International, Pastor Jude Chuks Itabor, earlier in his brief exaltation had expressed his gratitude to everyone who took time to honour his invitation to be part of the annual thanksgiving.

According to him, thanksgiving to God, remains an important part of his Ministry as God moves faster to answer our prayers when we always thank him for His benevolence.

Another visiting gospel preacher, Prophet Shola Adewale Sholola in defining “thanksgiving” said it is nothing but “appreciation that goes with giving out something.” Other men of God present at the service included Pastor Wole Olamiju.

It was a great time as a good number of guests from different Christian denominations were in attendance.
