Members of Nigeria’s South-South Boxing Team who departed for Canada at the weekend have arrived safely and are settling down for the Golden Glove Tournament tournament.

According to South-South Boxing Chairmanship contender Mr. Albert Egbe Enahoro, who spoke to ATLANTICNEWSONLINE on phone, the team members and their officials are fast aclamatizing with the Canadian weather preparatory to the event.

The tournament is scheduled to commence with Preliminary Bout on 18th and 19th, 2025 at the Bowess Sport Complex, 1515 Home Road, Calgary, Alberta Canada.
The Final Bout is scheduled for 26th July, 2025 at Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. Mary Hall 10765, 135a St. Surrey British Columbia, V3T 4EA Canada.
According to Enahoro, the Fighter Team consists of nine members with four officials. The entire team was led from Nigeria by the Boxing Head Coach Odion Emoni who, a few days to their departure to Canada had told ATLANTICNEWSONLINE that he was hopeful the Team would bring laurels back to Nigeria.

Notably, this is the second team in less than two years that Mr. Enahoro has facilitated their boxing trip for tournament in Canada. In addition, he has hosted several boxing competitions in several parts of Nigeria including the South-South.

Albert Egbe Enahoro who is Nigeria’s former champion, Canadian former champion, North America former champion and WBO/NBA champion has deep-rooted interest in improving Boxing in Nigeria. He is poised to give opportunity to the upcoming stars and their officials as he believes giving back to the society which has earlier helped him to find his position in life.

His enthusiasm towards helping upcoming talents of Nigerian extraction is remarkably increasing in both sports and entertainment related activities and according to him, he derives immense joy from doing such.
