As the 2027 general elections are gradually creating alignment and re-alignment in Nigeria’s political space

the National Youth Alliance (NYA) has concluded arrangement to inaugurate no fewer than 123 local government coordinators in the South-South Geo-political zone.

According to information made available to ATLANTICNEWSONLINE from the Delta State Office of the Alliance on Friday, the event which would be coordinated by the National President of NYA, Amb. Aliyu Bin Abbas is expected to be attended by politicians across party lines one of whom is Senator Ned Nwoko who represents Delta North Senatorial District at the National Assembly.

He is to chair the occasion which is scheduled to begin at 10am on Monday 16th February, 2026 at Eleganza Event Center, Summit Road, Asaba. A former member of the House of Representatives, from Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Hon. Paschal Adigwe would be father of the day.

While Delta State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Barr. (Mrs) Pat Ajudua is the Mother of the day, Delta State House of Assembly member, Hon. Bridget Anyafulu and the Commissioner for Technical Education, Hon. Smart Ufo would be the Guests of Honour.

During the one day event, a senior lecturer from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Benin, Professor Victor Azubike Okonji would deliver the keynote lecture.

It would be recalled that a fortnight ago, the National President of NYA, Amb. Abbas at a landmark event in Abuja inaugurated the 36 State Chairmen of the Alliance including the coordinator in charge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Sequel to this, no fewer than 137 local government coordinators in the Southwest were inaugurated in Ibadan the Oyo State Capital a few days ago. The occasion was chaired by the 2023 Labour Party Governorship candidate in Lagos, Arc. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.

At present, the NYA is not officially aligned to any political party as its founders are ostensibly taking their time to discern and choose which of the existing parties has similar ideology and aspiration with the NYA. Their final choice of which party to align with, may be guided by the general feelings and aspirations of Nigerian youths whom the Alliance represents and not necessarily the party that offers more pecuniary attraction.
