The Parish Priest of St. Michael Catholic Church, Ubulu-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, Rev. Fr. Kingsley Ajufo has commended former Director of the Department of State Service (DSS) Barr. Mike Ejiofor for bringing development to his town through the Sandeb Farm and Resort initiative.

The priest who officially declared open (with prayers) on Saturday the newly completed ultra modern Sandeb Hotel in the Resort complex, Ubulu-Uku for operations, noted that Ejiofor has taken a rare step by putting resources together after retirement from public service to improve the social and economic lives of people in his community.

While praising the DSS former chieftain for his foresight, Fr. Ajufo challenged other Nigerians still in public service to emulate Ejiofor as the Sandeb Farm and Resort as a business concern would not only provide social services for the people of his community but also provide employment opportunities.

According to the priest, “I would say this Hotel is a positive and welcome initiative that clearly shows that there is development and hope for youths of Ubulu-Uku now and in the future.

“This is a place that would bring development in terms of social activities where people who visit from the cities and people who live around can come, relax, enjoy the serene environment and nature. It is also an opportunity for young boys and girls to get employment and be engaged.”

Extolling the beauty of the environment further after he had been conducted round the Farm and Resort located on well fenced hectares of land, Rev. Ajufo said “there is the guest house (hotel), snailery, piggery, farm, fish pond and other facilities that would help people enjoy life and get something doing. I am happy to be associated with this kind of development, he said.”

The Catholic Priest who took time to bless rooms in the hotel complex, event centre, swimming pool, lawn tennis court, restaurant and other facilities, remarked that Ejiofor has always been a supporter of youths explaining that over twenty years ago while undergoing his priestly training in the Seminary, he had benefitted from the former Director’s kindness without him knowing the beneficiaries.

“I thank God that 20 years after I became a priest, Ejiofor is still supporting the youths and I believe that this kind of innovation is a big sign for the younger generation,”he posited.

Speaking further, Ajufo enjoined Nigerian youths in general to emulate the hard work of people like Mike Ejiofor who had served Nigeria meritoriously for 35 unblemished years before retiring into the Sandeb Farm and Resort business as a way of helping the present and future generations.

He emphasised that God blesses hard work “as God did not create us to live in vain but to work and have something to show for the good work.”

The Catholic Priest further advised Nigerians to always put God first in their plans and allow Him to spiritually be in control without cutting corners.

Atlanticnewsonline gathered from management of the Farm and Resort that new employment has begun for people to fill the vacant positions of hotel manager, accountant, front desk officer, cooks, laundry staff, house keepers, etc.
The newly constructed Hotel has multi channel television stations in all the rooms showing movies, international news, sports etc. The rooms have sophisticated intercom facility linked to the reception, bar and security.
There is also 24-hour power service with solar power energy and stand by industrial generator which ensures constant power supply in absence of public power supply. This is a unique selling point for Sandeb Hotel as other guest houses in the town are yet to boast of such facilities.
