The last may not have been heard over the 65 Toyota Prado SUVs presented to traditional rulers recently in Delta State by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as a frontline activist in the state, Mr. Victor Ojei (a.k.a. Wong Box) has strongly condemned the gesture.
It is no longer surprising that in today’s Nigeria, politically driven pastors and prophets are fast outnumbering those pastors and prophets genuinely called by God to do His work.
More disgusting is the fact that these ‘self-called’ pastors and prophets are breaking through every media space to advertise themselves with revelations that do not have their origin in God’s agenda. They are never mindful of the scriptural condemnation that goes to any one who prophesies when God has not revealed anything to him.
The recent distribution of 65 new SUVs to traditional rulers by Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori is not a gesture of respect; it is a calculated political investment using public funds to secure loyalty ahead of the 2027 elections. At a time when the state faces fundamental crises in welfare, security, and infrastructure, this act is a profound insult to every struggling citizen of Delta State.
A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr. Augustine Eneche Audu has taken a swipe on the current regime of defection by lawmakers, governors and other elected political office holders from one political party to another and has called on the judiciary to urgently make bold pronouncement compelling the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct fresh elections replacing such defectors.
With the recent defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) by the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Mr. Peter Obi, the expected has begun to come to pass and book makers are being proved right in some quarters.
Similarly, with the defection to the same ADC late last year by one time Vice President of Nigeria, and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), presidential candidate in 2023, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, there have been a lot of speculations on the horizon that Atiku who seemed to enjoy a monopoly of a larger followership among those already in the party with 2027 presidential ambition, would become unsettled once Peter Obi eventually defects to the same party.
The new year is already here with us. The 2027 general elections in Nigeria are gradually drawing near. Defections have since been the hallmark of political gladiators either for the right or wrong reasons
A group of Concerned Citizens of Igbo in the Diaspora, has berated Nigeria’s Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi over his recent statement dismissing the existence of Biafra in the minds of people of Igbo extraction.
The recent celebration of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s 46th birthday was quite remarkable in some ways. It had come with enormous and unique display of the humanity in her, and this was another pointer to the fact that she is not a political rabble rouser as her traducers would want Nigerians to
An unusual development garbed in what could be described as internal apartheid is unfolding at Idumu Osume Quarters in Ubulu-Uku, Delta State following the decision to brazenly deny some indigenes their natural right of citizenship by a group. The group is allegedly led by a Lagos based
