The people of Aboh Ogwashi-Uku community in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State have pleaded with the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to order the immediate withdrawal of police personnel deployed to assist a Chinese businessman in invading and claiming people’s land in the community.

Some indigenes of the community whose names are being with-held for fear of being attacked told ATLANTICNEWSONLINE that the police personnel who claimed to have been deployed from Abuja in collaboration with some hired thugs have been aiding and abetting the Chinese to erect fence on a land belonging to the Aboh Ogwashi-Uku Community when there is a pending case at the Delta State High Court in Ogwashi-Uku in connection with the land in question.

In 2024, the Aboh Ogwashi-Uku community had filed a case at Delta State High Court, Ogwashi-Uku division challenging Gee7 Properties whose agents were reportedly seen destroying people’s property on the land.

The case with Suit No. 0/88/24 was said to have been instituted by the community challenging Gee7 Properties which is believed to be acting in concert with the Chinese. The land in question, located opposite 63 Military Brigade Base near Admiralty University of Nigeria on Ogwashi-Uku/Ibusa Road measures over 20 hectares.

The case was said to have come up on Monday 9th February, 2026 but because parties have not regularised their processes, the matter was adjourned to a later date.

The community representatives have concluded that it was absolutely unconstitutional and unprofessional for police authorities outside Delta State to deploy police personnel to protect, aid and abet a Chinese national to invade and take possession of people’s land still under litigation in court.

They have therefore called on the IGP and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to quickly intervene by ordering the withdrawal of the police personnel to avoid a possible breach of peace in the area with a demand that any body having stake in the land should go through proper procedure.
