Detectives from the Zone 2 Police Command headquarters, Lagos
have apprehended one Moshood Najimdeen at his residence in Oke-Ola area of Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State with two hearts suspected to be human hearts discovered during a search at his residence.
During interrogation, the suspect implicated one Adebanjo Wasiu, a male whom he claimed to have paid Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000) to
assist in obtaining two human hearts. Wasiu in turn, pointed to one Segun Asunni, a male also as the source of the hearts.
However, during interrogation, the two hired suspects disclosed that the hearts were pig hearts and not human hearts.
Zone 2 Police spokesperson, Ayuba Tunni Umma, a Superintendent of Police confirmed that investigation has commenced into the alleged offence while the two suspected
human hearts have been sent to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) for thorough examination and confirmation. She promised to communicate further findings.
Meanwhile, the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 2 (Lagos and Ogun States) Ari Muhammed Ali has implored
residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any form of unwholesome activities in their respective areas to the nearest Police formation within their locality.
He reiterated his commitment to ensuring safety of lives and property of residents of Lagos and Ogun States.
