UNIDEL Secures NUC Accreditation For More Academic Programmes

The National Universities Commission, (NUC) has approved two new programmes for the University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor. This followed the resource verification carried out by the Commission in December, 2024.

In a summary report of the exercise signed by Engr. Abraham Chundusu, Acting.Director of Accreditation, NUC, the two Departments are Information and Communication Technology, and Computer Engineering which are in the Faculty of Computing and the Faculty Engineering respectively.

The report which was presented to the University Management, showed that Information and Communication Technology scored 89.1 % while Computer Engineering had 83.5 %.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke while reacting to the development, said the achievement underscored the institution’s academic excellence and quality education.

She expressed joy and commended the dedication of the University’s staff, emphasising that the growth and advancement of the citadel of learning remained a collaborative endeavor.

It could be recalled that in 2024, UNIDEL achieved a significant milestone by receiving a massive accreditation of 69 out of 72 courses.
