MEET FRANK OSHANUGOR

The Faculty of Social Science, University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor, has won the third edition of the Vice Chancellor’s Cup.

The football match which was played in the University Mini Stadium Agbor Campus, saw the Faculty of Social Science scoring three goals in the first half to defeat the Faculty of Management Science.

The Faculty of Social Science opened the scores in the 5th minute and made it two at the 10th minute through a free-kick.
As the game progressed, the Faculty of Social Science maintained more ball possession capitalizing on the porous defence of their opponent. At the 30th minute, they converted a penalty to make it three goals to nil.

Earlier in her address, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Stella Chiemeke expressed gratitude to the organizers, participants and supporters who contributed immensely towards the huge success of the tournament.
She said their dedication, enthusiasm and passion for sports especially football were truly inspiring.

She noted that the tournament was not all about winning or loosing but about the camaraderie and the memories created along the way. She urged them to use the event to bond with their colleagues, build relationships and foster a sense of community..

Speaking to the press after the presentations of trophies to the Champion, Faculty of Social Science and the first and second runners-up, Prof. Chiemeke congratulated the Faculty of Social Science and all Faculties that participated in the tournament.

She also gave kudos to the Students Union Government led by Comrade Peter lghodaro for their conduct and spirit of sportsmanship displayed throughout the three weeks tournament.
The Registrar, Barrister Richmond Omagbemi and the Bursar, Mr. Sunny Ikeogwu watched the entertaining football match.

Some Council Members along with various Dean’s of Faculties, including the Dean of Students Advisory Services, Dr. Rufus ljeh, Directors of Academic Programmes, Heads of Departments, staff, students and soccer enthusiasts within and outside Delta State also watched the match.
The match was beamed live in the UNIDEL social media platforms and the University Mini Stadium was filled to capacity.
