MEET FRANK OSHANUGOR

By Frank Oshanugor
The King of Ubulu-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Obi Chukwuka Noah Akaeze I, has wielded the big stick on one of his Chiefs, Asika James Onwordi by suspending him from the position of Onishe following what has been described as mutiny to the Royal Throne and an act of insubordination.

A letter addressed to Chief Asika James Onwordi, dated 17th August, 2025 (a copy of which was made available to ATLANTICNEWSONLINE) titled suspension from office as Onishe and signed by the Palace Secretary, Prince George Ofulue, stated: “In

order to ensure that the process of decision making in Ubulu-Uku Kingdom is in tandem with the interests of the people of the Kingdom and represents the true intentions of His Royal Majesty, he has observed that:

“The letter of August 11, 2025 by some chiefs and the Ubulu-Uku Traditional Council is deemed an act of disobedience and mutiny to the Royal Throne, an affront to the authority of His Royal Majesty and portrays him as no longer in control of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom.”

The letter stated further that “Your deliberate absence without any justifiable reasons to attend the zoom/online interactive sessions with His Royal Majesty on Saturday, August 16, 2025 between the hours of 10.30am to 2.30pm is considered an act of insubordination. By your actions, you have encouraged chiefs and other stakeholders in Ubulu-Uku Kingdom to disobey all instructions given by His Royal Majesty unless and until the same is approved by you.”
Consequent upon the foregoing unacceptable acts, the monarch has suspended Onwordi from office of the Onishe of Ubulu-Uku with a directive that he should refrain from all activities, functions, programmes and responsibilities associated with the office of the Onishe until “clearance is obtained in writing from His Royal Majesty. The letter added that “this is very important and must be complied with immediately.”

Copies of the letter were subsequently forwarded to Delta State Commissioner of Police, State Director, Department of State Service, The Executive Chairman, Aniocha South Local Government Area and The Chairman, Aniocha South Traditional Rulers Council for information.

It would be recalled that a few days ago, 16 Ubulu-Uku chiefs led by Asika Onwordi had issued a press statement challenging some of the decisions taken by the king. Many indigenes of the community have been reacting to the press statement, condemning its import which they considered as treasonable to the Royal Throne.
Wow
Good reportage, balance in view and flowery prose.
They have committed mutiny which is a treasonable offence and all chiefs will face capital punishment none will be exempted. Since they don’t want Ubulu-Uku kingdom to move forward.
