In the wake of endless invasion of Ubulu-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State in recent time by kidnappers, herdsmen, gunmen and other criminal elements, concerned citizens of the community both at home and in the Diaspora; have concluded arrangements to bring all the existing vigilance groups in the town together for effective performance.

Prior to the present time, no fewer than five groups have been in existence and they included Ubulu-Uku Central Vigilante, The Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Delta State Vigilante Group, The Hunters Association of Nigeria and the Anti-Cult Unit.

The five different groups have now merged as one big security outfit with the name UBULU-UKU CENTRAL VIGILANTE which will be officially launched on Saturday 2nd August, 2025 at Ubulu-Uku.

Speaking on phone with ATLANTICNEWSONLINE from his base in the United States on Tuesday, one of the major conveners, Prince Uche Chiemeka said it had become necessary to bring together the various groups as one central and formidable outfit that would diligently protect Ubulu-Uku people and secure their land as government cannot do it alone.

According to him, the five groups driven by the same mission, have merged to create something greater, more formidable to enhance security and promote justice in Ubulu-Uku after having solemnly pledged to work as a unified team.

Members of the legacy groups now merged and known as Ubulu-Uku Central Vigilante have subsequently signed a unity accord that transcends their earlier different paths.

Highly placed personalities from Delta North Senatorial District including Aniocha South Local Government Chairman, the police Area Commander, Ubulu-Uku Council of Chiefs, and others are expected to attend the official launch on Saturday.

The event would begin at 10am in the Old NITEL building located by the Eke Market junction, Ubulu-Uku.
