MEET FRANK OSHANUGOR

By Braxton Ilobah
The last may not have been heard with respect to the forceful and illegal acquisition of parts of Ubulu-Uku land by suspected agents of the Ogwashi-Uku monarch, HRM Obi Ifechukwude Aninshi Okonjo as armed thugs and vigilante operatives on Wednesday launched terror attack on Aniagbala area of the community, carting away expensive Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras, inverter and other tools and equipment from the multi-million naira all-season farm belonging to a banker, Mr. Luke Ejiofor.

The thugs and men of Ogwashi-Uku-based Lion Vigilante reportedly led by one Chief George Okafor (a.k.a. Mad Major) were said to have stormed Aniagbala in a black colour Toyota Tundra on Wednesday morning and went straight to destroy and cart away two solar-powered CCTV 4k dual cameras, all 4G Network products with PIR Sensor. The thugs-turned thieves also carried away a 7.5kva (RSI) 3-phase integrated inverter and other farm tools and equipment. The items are reportedly worth several millions of naira.

The cameras with capacity to record real time online, were mounted on a well-built stake that holds the water tank used for irrigation. The vandals may have suspected that the cameras gave them away in their recent attacks as bulldozing and destructive activities in previous attacks few days ago were recorded real time with clear photos.

Two days ago, the main gate of the all-season farm was reportedly pulled down by agents of the Ogwashi-Uku monarch who has continued to lay claim of ownership of the hectares of land Mr. Ejiofor legally acquired from the leadership of Ubulu-Uku community and owners of the land about eight years ago for economic development purposes.

Confirming the incident on phone with ATLANTICNEWSONLINE on Wednesday afternoon, Mr. Ejiofor whose palm trees numbering no fewer than 6000 and 100 beehives were destroyed recently by the land grabbers said “men of Lion Vigilante led by one man nick-named “MAD MAJOR” from Ogwashi-Uku have resorted to stealing and vandalising my farm in the past days.

“My farm gate was pulled down by the agents of the Obi Ogwashi-Uku who is behind the land grab at Aniagbala. I did not know that their intention was also to destroy, steal and vandalise my farm. Perhaps, they are afraid of the cameras recording their nefarious activities. Who knows their next plan, hence they destroyed and carted away my cameras.
“The identified leader of the terror gang whose real name is Chief George Okafor works for the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku and he has been part of the land grabbing gang terrorising Aniagbala Ubulu-Uku in the past one month without hindrance,” he narrated.
Efforts made to speak with the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Mr. Monday Osayi at Ogwashi-Uku to speak on the attack and stealing failed as he could not pick several calls put to him. However, the Police Public Relations Officer at the Delta State Police Command Headquarters, Asaba, Bright Edafe; a Superintendent of Police when contacted, told ATLANTICNEWSONLINE that the Command was not aware of any such attack and stealing.
He however, advised that owners of the vandalised and stolen items should send a petition officially informing the State Commissioner of Police for necessary action as the police would not tolerate anything that could cause a breach of peace in any part of the State.
