Telecom Operators Not Responsible For The Glitch In Internet Speed, Investigation Reveals

The ongoing disruption in the telecommunications space which has hampered internet speed and telephone conversation across the country is not the fault of telecoms service providers, investigation has revealed.

Atlanticnewsonline investigation within the telecoms industry reveals that none of the licensed telecoms operators has any technical fault that would have warranted the observed glitch which became manifest in
the last few days preceding the commencement of the nationwide protest that began on Thursday.

Several internet users and telephone owners have suffered untold hardship in the last few days as their internet services were either completely not functional or running on very low speed that resulted in inexplicable cause.

In some cases, many telephone lines have suddenly become blocked or swapped technically in a manner that leaves the line owner wondering where the fault has come from.

In all of this, investigation reveals that none of the Telecom Service Providers has any explanation to give as the faults are not traceable to them. According to an online newspaper publication, Telecom operators have accused the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the National Security Adviser (NSA) of hampering internet speed across the country in order to suppress information flow from the protesters to other Nigerians and the outside world.

The attempt to disrupt the smooth operation of the internet was intended to deprive the protesters of global support needed to actualise their objective. By so doing, Government would be in a better position to control what goes on.

Ostensibly working in line with such plan of government, many Nigerians suffered lack of connectivity on the first day of the protest as they could not reached by callers and neither were they able to reach to intended receivers.
