It is still not clear why some Nigeria Police personnel allegedly brought from Zone 5 Headquarters, Benin-City have continued to aid and abet a Chinese, Mr. Gouquing Lin whose company New Base World Class Resources Limited has chosen to displace owners of land at Aboh Ogwashi-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The invading Chinese and his collaborators have continued to defy the orders of the Delta State Police Commissioner who was said to have given instructions stopping further encroachment on the land which is currently under litigation at the High Court, Ogwashi-Uku.

On Saturday 21st February, 2026 the Chinese and his collaborators were said to have brought bulldozers once again to pull down a house belonging to Mr. Azuka Nwalioba which was under construction on the pretence by the Chinese that his company has acquired the land measuring about 20 hectares.

The ancestral land belonging to some Aboh Ogwashi-Uku families is situated opposite the Military Base along Ogwashi-Uku -Ibusa Expressway is close to the Admiralty University of Nigeria. The land was once rescued by Aboh Ogwashi indigenes from Ibusa invaders over 25 years.

The Ibusa people consequently sued in Suit No. A/89/99 at the Delta State High Court, Asaba but Aboh Ogwashi-Uku people won.

In 2024, a company, Gee7 Properties Limited had encroached on the same land claiming ownership until lawyers to the claimants filed a Suit No. 0/88/2024 at the High Court, Ogwashi-Uku to restrain Gee7 Properties from further encroachment.

The matter which came up for hearing about a fortnight ago was adjourned to a later date as parties to the case were yet to perfect their processes.

It is therefore not understandable why New Base World Class Resources Limited and its Director, Mr. Gouquing Lin, a Chinese should now become another claimant not mindful of the case in court over the same land.

It is suspected that the Chinese is having some “untouchable” Nigerians who have the security agencies particularly the police from Zone 5 Headquarters in their pockets.

It is feared that some indigenes of the place may soon resort to self help as the invaders and their collaborators are not giving up any time soon.

The Aboh Ogwashi-Uku community has therefore called on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori not to close his eyes while people’s properties are being destroyed unjustly under his administration.

The invaders have continued to defy the doctrine of lispendis, defy the order of state government and the order of the commissioner of police.
