The Industrial Training Fund, (ITF) on Thursday, May 29th, 2025 held orientation exercise for prospective UNIDEL students preparing for the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme, SIWES.

The SIWES Area Manager for Warri Zone who was represented by Mr. Udoakang Samuel, the Head of Training, stated that SIWES was a crucial program aimed at providing students with practical work experience in industries related to their field of study.

He added that the program was designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills, preparing the students as potential workforce.
His lecture at the orientation exercise which took place at the 1000 Capacity Hall, Agbor Campus, centered on objectives of SIWES, SlWES guidelines, industrial attachment, procedures of filling different SlWES forms and benefits of SIWES.

He also stated that by participating in the orientation exercise, students would be better equipped to navigate the SIWES program and maximize its benefits
The SlWES Director, University of Delta, Agbor, Mr. Patrick Okwagi thanked the lTF team for the orientation exercise which, according to him, had exposed the students to the rules and regulations governing the program including registration, payment and documentation requirements.

He commended the University Management for creating a conducive learning environment for the students, whom he said, would do well in the industrial training.

During a courtesy call by the ITF officials, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke said she was indeed grateful to ITF for their tireless efforts in promoting industrial training and skills development across tertiary institutions in Nigeria. She thanked the fund for their partnership and support
