Ibom Air Passenger Charged To Court For Alleged Unruly Behavior

The Nigeria Police have slammed five-count charges against Ibom Air Passenger, Miss Comfort Bob Emanson for allegedly exhibiting unruly behavior while on flight number LANS13 from Uyo to Lagos on Sunday 10th August, 2025 at about 1045 hours.

In a press statement on Monday, the Public Relations Officer of Police Airport Command, Daramola Kazeem said Emanson failed to adhere to instructions of one of the flight attendants, Juliana Edward to switch off her cell phone before take off which eventually caused a lot of rancour and argument between 26 years old Emanson and the crew member.

Following the argument, a co-passenger sitting beside Emanson had prevailed on her to switch off her phone being the standard practice for safety reasons but all persuasions reportedly fell on deaf ears.

According to the statement, Emanson who obviously felt enraged before take off waited till she got to Lagos before she went for the crew member again and this time abused and physically attacked her after she waited for all passengers to disembark from the aircraft.

She was reported to have stepped on the foot of the crew member and slapped her. She also abused and assaulted another crew member named Jokpame Sajun, a female by hitting slippers on her face.

During the scuffle, the curtain separating business class from economy was torn and damaged just as she seized the fire extinguisher she laid her hand on in the plane in an attempt to hit anyone on her way. It took efforts of airport security to disembark her and handed her over to the police.

On completion of police investigation, the suspect was on Monday 11th of August, 2025 arraigned before Magistrate Salami of Magistrate court 18, Ogba Ikeja, Lagos on five count charges.

She pleaded not guilty to the charges and the case was adjourned to 6th of October, 2025 for hearing just as she was remanded in kirikiri correctional center pending when she meets her bail conditions.

It will be recalled that about a week ago, a Nigerian musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (a.k.a. Kwam 1) had some ugly encounter with officials of an airline in Abuja airport.
