Seventy-five years old member of Labour Party, Dr. Omawumi Jemide-Lawal has reportedly died in a motor accident on her way from Warri to Asaba on Wednesday.
AtlanticNewsonline gathered that she was among the recently appointed members of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign
Council (PCC) whose inauguration was scheduled for this week in Asaba, Delta State capital.
Confirming the incident on phone, Delta State Presidential Campaign Coordinator, Comrade
Onochie Osheokwu told AtlanticNewsonline that the late Jemide-Lawal was a committed member of the Labour Party.
He explained that her presence and contributions would be greatly missed particularly as the presidential election is about three weeks from now.
He prayed for the repose of her soul even as he urged the deceased family to take heart
over the incident as she did not die in vain.
