A security analyst and Managing Director of Badinson Security Service Limited, Mr. Matthew Ibadin has identified security, safety and business as key drivers to any attempt in emplacing a renewed economic growth in Nigeria.

Delivering a lecture as a guest speaker at Security and Business Summit 2024 held at the prestigious Black Diamond hotel in Victoria Island, the security chieftain took a critical look at various nagging issues that currently constitute a hindrance to economic growth in Nigeria and concluded that even as they are multifaceted, a combination of security, safety and business would take Nigeria to a higher level of economic growth.

In explaining this further, Ibadin who is currently a doctoral student in security and strategic studies at the University of Abuja posited that “by addressing the power challenges facing businesses and security operatives, building security

infrastructure, encouraging public-private partnerships fostering a culture of safety, leveraging technology and strengthening legal protections, we can create an environment where businesses would flourish and economy thrives.”

Speaking on the theme “Security, Safety And Business: Pathways To Renewed Economic Growth”, Ibadin noted that “in a rapidly evolving global landscape, the interplay or crucial connections among security, safety and business have become fundamental to economic stability and prosperity.”

Analysing the thesis, the security chieftain explained that without a stable and secure environment, businesses cannot flourish just as he went further to emphasize the symbiotic relationship between security and economic growth. In his words, “a secured environment builds investor confidence, attracts business and foreign investment while economic growth on the other hand provides the resources necessary to sustain security.”

According to him “safety in the business context extends beyond physical security to include workplace safety and the protection of intellectual property, adding that a safe environment enhances productivity.”

Mr. Ibadin while calling on Government to address the power challenges, emphasized that power supply remains a pillar for economic and safety growth. This was even as he pointed out that “for economic growth to flourish, Nigeria must establish a robust structure to curb fraudulent activities. This includes not only a solid law enforcement framework but also an effective judicial system to uphold laws and protect investment.”

The Badinson boss also spoke extensively on other issues verging on the need to strengthen investor protection against land grabbing and other pathways to economic growth through what he called strategic approach.
Dignitaries at the one day event included AIG Zone 2 Adegoke Fayoade, Group Chairman of Black Diamond Hotel, Prophet Isiah Wealth and a host of others.

One of the highlights of the occasion was award presentation to Ibadin and others by organisers of the event Media Tiger Communication. The Badinson boss was honoured with IMPACTFUL PERSONALITY AWARD OF DISTINCTION for his commitment in security space particularly in security Intelligence.
