A humanitarian and non-governmental organization (NGO), Abounding Grace Foundation (AGF) has concluded plans to visit inmates of Nigerian Correctional Services at Nnewi and Ekwulobia in Anambra State as part of its activities towards celebrating Christmas.

The prison outreach programme which is scheduled for 10am on December 20, 2025 would be a time to felicitate with inmates of the correctional centres and leave them with some joy in spite of the offences they committed that precipitated their imprisonment.

Similarly, the Foundation would on 22nd December, 2025 hold outreach programme for widows at Obi Umudim Nnewi, also in Anambra State with a view to providing some succour for them in this festive period.

Founded by Evangelist Christian Chukwuka, the Foundation since inception 12 years, has continued to cater to the needs of the less privileged particularly prison inmates. The AGF has also been involved in rehabilitating ex-offenders and help them reintegrate back successfully into the society without stigmatisation.

The Foundation’s mission is rooted in compassion and transformation and in the light of this, it remains committed to restoring dignity, rebuilding of lives and giving second chance to individuals often forgotten or neglected by society.

Remarkably, no fewer than 70,000 inmates have so far been impacted through the Foundation’s rehabilitation programme while over 2000 ex-offenders empowered by AGF have become small scale business owners. Over the years, the Foundation has visited no fewer than 256 prisons across Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Liberia and Gambia.

Towards achieving more successes in line with its mission, the Foundation has called for support to enable it “mitigate recidivism or re-offending” particularly in cultism and drug abuse which are major defects in the society.

In a document made available to ATLANTICNEWSONLINE, it is revealing that the needs of prison inmates in the nation’s correctional facilities have continued to increase in the areas of feeding, hygienic environment, medical care, emotional support and many others.

According to the document, the Foundation needs support from members of the public to enable it provide essential supplies such as food items, toiletries, clothing and medical items.

Other areas of support include expansion of rehabilitation facilities and skill acquisition programme for ex-offenders, provision of start up resources for re-integration, empowerment of youths through mentorship, seminars and vocational training.

The AGF also wants support for widows and vulnerable families with relief materials and empowerment initiatives.

According to the Foundation, support can come through financial donations (one time or re-occuring), sponsorship of rehabilitation or youth programme and donation of hygiene materials, food items, clothing or medical supplies.

Currently, the AGF has 105 registered members who are actively involved in the activities of the Foundation and they meet regularly via Tik Tok live, providing mentoring counseling and value based teaching to a global audience.
